FIREBALL RUN THE MOVIE WINS SILVER TELLY Fireball Run Adventurally Announces Big Win At 32nd Annual Telly Awards
UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ORLANDO, Florida– Producers of the Fireball Run Adventurally announce its documentary short, FIREBALL RUN the Movie, wins its category at the 32nd Annual Telly Awards.
NOT a road race, the FIREBALL RUN Adventurally is a live action, eight day, and rolling motion picture. While competing in series of challenges embracing points of interest, road side America, as well as geographical location, teams participate in a massive recovery effort for missing and exploited children.
The Fireball Run’s cause-related effort called, the Race to Recover America’s Missing Children, is the largest active recovery effort for missing and exploited children in the country. Every team is assigned a missing child from their home region along with thousands of posters to distribute along the route. A decal featuring the child is affixed to the vehicle, creating a rolling milk carton. To date, the effort has assisted in the recovery of 36 missing children. “All of us take this effort very seriously,” says Fireball Run Announcer and legendary radio personality Ron Seggi, “It’s fun, it’s a competition, but it’s also about compassion.”
The Telly winning 30 minute documentary short was screened to a sellout crowd at the Orlando Film Festival in 2010. The production was lauded as both intense and passionate by entertainment industry elite. “Winning a Silver Telly was unexpected,” said J Sanchez, the Executive Producer “Every year we film the live action road rally competition in the hopes of it someday becoming a true-to-reality television series. Last year we decided to bite the bullet and invest in producing a documentary short to see what happens,” J further explained “We only submitted one time, under a single category. None of us anticipated winning. Today the Telly, tomorrow the Emmy. Someday.”
The live action annual event known as the Chevrolet Fireball Run Adventurally is a challenging 2500 mile interactive game; America is the game board. The teams are simply pawns in the game. Several celebrities and notables have entered the competition since its inception in 2007 ranging from 2007 Fireball Run Winners actor Jeffrey Donovan and Stunt Coordinator Artie Malesci, to World Drag Champion Harold Laird, Lamborghini legend Valentino Balboni, NASCAR legend Geoff Bodine, Astronaut Winston Scott, even the winners from the Amazing Race television series.
Nearly 50 teams adventure roughly 3,500 miles in 8 days, driving everything from Camaro’s to Corvettes, Lamborghini’s to Land Rover’s, even the Time Car from Back to the Future II, K.I.T.T, a Model T, and the police car from the Andy Griffith Show. Along the way they solve clues and complete challenges to earn points, in addition to various motorsport challenges.
The Fireball Run Adventurally, sponsored by Barrett-Jackson Auctions LLC, LuxuryLifestyle.com, O’Donnell Corp, and RedBird Printing, and Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka is a national event and production is headquartered at NBC UNIVERSAL Studios in Orlando Florida. The safe yet mentally challenging rally is welcomed by area law enforcement in each host destination.
The 2011 Chevrolet Fireball Run Adventurally starts September 23rd on Florida’s Space Coast and concludes October 1st in the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The event encourages the public to come out, get autographs, and show their support. The production is filmed and available on DVD.
