Welcome To Dodge City, Kansas!

You've just reached the halfway point, pilgrim. Time to head off the Western Trail and pull up to Dodge City, the Queen of the Cow Towns. This city is a direct link to the days of sheriffs and gunslingers as popularized by the radio/TV show, Gunsmoke. You can also find the Santa Fe Trail Remains here, a location on the US National Register of Historic Places.

Dodge City has embraced its old west roots and made preserving their American History a priority. There are horse troughs, cattle statues, and even an original saloon from the days of Wyatt Earp. At every corner, this city is laced with historical artifacts, buildings, trails and markers taking visitors on a tour through time.

Being in the heart of the American plains, Dodge City also holds claim as our country's windiest city with an average wind speed of 14 mph. Economically, Dodge is a hidden gem. Recognized as the least economic stressed county in the United States, Dodge City and the surrounding area are experiencing monumental growth and an unprecedented 3% unemployment rate!

Kansas is home to the direct center of America, well deserving of the name America's Heartland. The Jayhawk State is also a keeper of what inspired our forefathers to continue marching west to the Pacific. Some believe it was their destiny to drive towards the coast, but your destiny lies in Dodge City as you get to be John Wayne for a day. Don't worry though...this town is definitely big enough for all of us.
