The Ohio Center for Broadcasting joins FIREBALL RUN

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Orlando, Florida–

The Ohio and Illinois Centers for Broadcasting joins a national film production as it arrives in Independence, OH on September 21st for the official startling line of the 2012 FIREBALL RUN Adventurally “Northern Exposure.”

 

Fireball Run is a national live event and film series, headquartered at Universal Studios. The FIREBALL RUN Adventurally, presented this year by LuxuryLifestyle.com, is an 8-day, 14 city, 2,200 mile interactive adventure for 80 competitors in 40 vehicles ranging from Lamborghini and Ferrari to a Water delivery truck; solving clues to historic missions throughout the Northeast as they search for missing children.

 

Not only will industry professionals and students from The Ohio and Illinois Centers for Broadcasting be assisting the FIREBALL RUN Series with their live cast show streaming online from Independence, OH- they will be also be traveling with the production until its conclusion 10 day later in Bangor, ME.

 

“With a prestigious broadcasting school, like theirs, located near so this year’s start, it only made sense to reach out and offer a synergistic opportunity to work with our production. The Ohio and Illinois Centers for Broadcasting agreed it would a great learning experience for their students as well as a promotional opportunity- and we are pleased to have them involved,” said Fireball Run Director, Brian Bazala.

 

Christopher O’Connell, Regional Outreach Coordinator of the Ohio Center for Broadcasting and John Truitt, Deputy Director for the Chicago Campus will also be competing as part of an embedded team in the Adventurally; raising awareness for missing 18-month old Hailey Buildt as well as her mother, 16-year-old, Vivian Buildt of Cleveland, Ohio. Vivian and Hailey were last seen August 25, 2011, While this is not an Amber Alert, the child is believed to be in danger. Law enforcement has exhausted all possible leads and have turned to the public for help.

 

“We’re excited to have a national production like Fireball Run involved with the centers and can’t wait to have our students immersed in such a fantastic real world application of the skills we teach,” said John Truitt. “The Race to Recover America’s Missing Children is a great cause and we hoping our involvement helps bring much need attention to not only Hailey Buildt, but all the children featured”, added Christopher O’Connell. “As a father I understand how precious children are and we want to help bring them home safely.”

 

The Fireball Run’s Race to Recover America’s Missing Children is the largest active recovery effort for missing and exploited children in the country. Each team is assigned a child from their home region along with thousands of posters to distribute along the route. A decal featuring the child is affixed to the vehicle, creating a rolling awareness campaign. To date, the effort has assisted in the recovery of 38 missing children.

 

This year the Fireball Run also celebrates “women in professional sports” and includes Long Beach Grand Prix winner Shea Holbrook, Pro Wakeboard Champion Tarah Mikacich, Women’s Rodeo Champion Kelly Kaminski and NHRA Super Comp drag racer Tina Stull, as well as professional Lumberjill “Timber Tina” Scheer of the Great Maine Lumberjack Show, Survivor and Extreme Home Makeover… and from the Florida Space Coast team, a female astronaut.

 

Other notables include; international-renowned artist Laurence Gartel, the CEO of Crystal Springs Water and the Mayor of Gallup New Mexico, to name a few.

 

More information regarding the details of the starting line on Public Square will be revealed by the city in the coming months. However, the production encourages the public to come out to the City of Independence Campus, get autographs, and show their support for the cause and all the teams in each destination. The production thanks the City of Independence for their hospitality and support, as well as community partners like the Ohio and Illinois Center for Broadcasting.

 

Ohio residents will be welcome to meet the teams in Independence on Saturday, September 22nd before for the “BIG” green flag start 10AM Sunday, September 23rd. Fans nationwide will be able to watch LIVE on FireballRun.com/LIVE beginning Friday September 21st as the 40 character-driven teams and their unique vehicles begin arriving in Independence for Saturday’s pre-rally events and Sunday’s exciting start. The rally will continue to be streamed live courtesy of LiveStream and tracked via RealTrack GPS as it traverses the Northeast until its dramatic conclusion Saturday, September 29th in Bangor Maine.
