Nicole Johnson and Sharlene Wells Hawkes have much in common - they are mothers, public servants, givers, and both were Miss America!

In 1999, Nicole served as Miss America with a focus on diabetes. She has lived with Type 1 diabetes since 1993. Today, Nicole works with JDRF applying her research skills and working to make sure patient voices are understood.

In 1985, Sharlene served as Miss America with a focus on faith and character. Today, she is President of RMS Productions serving our military and veterans by telling their story, and preserving their history.
